Keith and Carrie Savage

Missionaries to Upstate New York

In 2008 Colbert FBC began supporting The Savages. Originally from NE Georgia they felt God’s call to began a work in New York and have since made great progress in the growth and development of Lake Champlain Bible Fellowship.

Church planters in Moriah, New York, a town of about 10,000 people. 77% of these people have never heard the Gospel, 80% are unchurched. Most people claim to be Catholic, but only a few actually practice their religion. Some of the problems we deal with here are drug and alcohol abuse, high divorce rates, and poverty. We try to offer hope found in Jesus Christ to these people by outreach events and Bible study. Some of the events we have done include free carwash, construction projects, giving out soup and coffee to ice fisherman in February, free snow blowing and shoveling, clothes closet, coat closet at the Labor Day parade, prayer walking, Vacation Bible School, concerts, giving out tracts and goodie bags at Halloween, and community Thanksgiving dinners. At all of these events, we make sure the Gospel is given to everyone either by personal testimony or tract and Bible giveaways.

The church, Lake Champlain Bible Fellowship, is growing and God is blessing all of us! We now have about 50 people. We now have a nursery and children's ministry up and running, and it has been very successful. We also have a van ministry on Sundays to pick up those who do not have a ride to church. We still have much work to do and covet your prayers!

Please keep up with the Savages and leave them an encouraging note on there blog!
